Eveready Model FP-4 Hearing Aid Battery Tester
The Eveready Model FP-4 hearing aid battery tester was made around
1970. It was made for the Union Carbide Corporation of New York, NY.
It was designed to just test mercury and silver button batteries for hearing aids made
in the 1960s and 1970s.
The Eveready Model FP-4 hearing aid battery tester measured 4" x 2⅞"
x 2⅛" (9.6 x 7.3 x 5.5 cm) and weighed 7 oz. (198 g).

tester. The meter was easy to read. If the needle remained in the red, the
battery needed to be replaced. If it was in the green, the battery was
still good. The top range was for testing silver (1.5 volt) batteries,
and the lower range was for testing mercury (1.4 volt) batteries.

With the red switch in the left position (shown) you could test 1.5
volt silver oxide button batteries. With it in the right position, it
could test 1.4 volt mercury button batteries.
To make it easy to test button batteries you could set the battery on
the metallic plate (left) and just use the black probe on the top
(negative) terminal.
