Hearing Testing Equipment

Maico Audiometer Model MA-6

This small Maico screening audiometer is first mentioned in 1960.

It tests at only 4 frequencies—500 Hz, 1000 Hz, 2000 Hz and 4000 Hz in 5 dB steps from 0 to 90 dB.

This audiometer used two 133E 4.2 volt mercury batteries.

Back

The receiver (ear phone) had several ear tips of different diameters so as to snugly fit into any ear.

The Maico MA-6 microphone was used for communicating with the person being tested. Notice the push-button at the top of the microphone. This releases the clip on the back used for clipping to the tester's clothing for hands-free operation.

Since the Maico MA-6 audiometer is a portable device, it comes complete with a leather carrying case (right).
