| According to this ad that appeared in the Saturday Evening Post, January 22, 1949, the battery cost $1.90. This ad shows the Eveready 455-P 45 volt "B" battery (left) paired with the Eveready 1052-P 1˝ volt "A" battery (right). As you can see, the "B" battery was more than 7 times as expensive as the "A" battery, but it also lasted longer.
