Hearing Aid Batteries

This is an 625 1.4 volt mercury hearing aid battery used in a few transistor hearing aids in the 1950s.

The 625 mercury battery weighed about 0.1 oz., and measured 3/16" high by ⅝" in diameter.

Mercury batteries are no longer sold today because of the large quantities of mercury in them and the consequent environmental concerns.
