Hearing Aid Batteries

Mallory M-910H Carbon-Zinc Hearing Aid "A" Battery

The Mallory M-910H 1½ volt carbon-zinc hearing aid "A" battery was manufactured by the Mallory Battery Co in the USA. It was used in transistor body-type hearing aids in the later 1950s and 1960s.

The M-910H carbon-zinc battery weighed about ¼ oz., and measured 1-3/16" long by 7/16" in diameter.

It was the cheaper alternative to the "N" sized mercury batteries common at this time, and may also have been the replacement for mercury batteries when they were discontinued due to health hazard considerations.
