Maico MT-2A "Hearing Aid"
The Maico MT-2A hearing aid was a table-top model.
Its exact purpose (and large size) of this device is a bit of a
mystery as by 1953 transistorized hearing aids were small body worn
units and contained 3 transistors. (A single-transistorized device would
not give much amplification.)
This large table-top unit uses a single transistor with markings GE 29A 722.
The size of the box is 7½" by 4¼" by 3½". It weighs 2 lbs. without batteries.

It came with a single earphone that was marked Permoflux
Corporation, Chicago. The rubber earpiece is marked MC-1 62A.

door. This indicates that this device was a "hearing aid" of some
sort.
