Assistive Listening Devices (ALDs)

Archer Model 12A6 Mini Amplifier/Speaker

The Archer Model 12A6 Mini Amplifier/Speaker was made in Taiwan and marketed by Radio Shack in the USA and Canada probably around 1965 or so.

The Mini Amplifier/Speaker measured  3 5/16" x 3⅛" x 1 7/16" (8.5 x 8.0 x 3.6 cm) and weighed 4 oz. (115 g) without the battery.

You could use this mini-amplifier as a personal amplifier by attaching a microphone to the "input" jack and plugging an earphone into the "ext. spkr" jack.

The "ext spkr" is probably a misnomer and should have read "earphone" jack as the supplied earphone (see top picture) plugged in here.
